Challenges

  • We assessed their website first. The online store lacked several product descriptions, images, and associated details. This made it challenging for Google to accurately interpret their product offerings, resulting in low ad conversion rates.
  • A previous vendor set up the client’s Google Ads Campaigns incorrectly, including errors in campaign configuration, ad copies, images, assets, and target audiences.

Solutions

The Marketing Team at Wagento began at first up the client’s accounts on interconnected Google tools such as Merchant Center, Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads. It’s crucial to understand that ads depend on multiple factors for success. From thereon, here’s how we went on to set it all right with our eCommerce marketing strategy:

  • Optimizing Google Merchant Center (GMC): Correcting the product feed in GMC was crucial. This involved fixing product descriptions, images, and Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs), ensuring all products met Google’s standards for advertising visibility. We are managing approximately 40,000 products on the Google Merchant Center for this client and correcting the product information for those listed with issues in the GMC.
  • Migrating to Google Analytics 4: The first step was transitioning from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This migration was essential for better data tracking and utilization. We utilized a plugin for seamless migration, enabling us to fully deploy GA4 in just 10 hours without the complexities often associated with coding.
  • Improving Tracking with Google Tag Manager (GTM): By implementing GTM, we centralized the management of all site tags. This not only simplified the deployment and update of tracking codes but also improved the site’s loading speed, essential for both user experience and SEO.
  • Analyzing Customer Journey & Behavior: Utilizing the enhanced eCommerce conversion tracking enabled by GTM, team at Wagento meticulously analyzed customer interaction data from product views to purchases. This data helped us refine our eCommerce marketing strategies and better target potential customers.
  • Developing a Dynamic Dashboard in Google Looker Studio: Utilizing the enhanced eCommerce conversion tracking enabled by GTM, team at Wagento meticulously analyzed customer interaction data from product views to purchases. This data helped us refine our eCommerce marketing strategies and better target potential customers.
  • Attribution Modeling and Conversion Optimization: Wagento overhauled the attribution models to better understand the pathways customers took before converting. Correcting the conversion tracking and implementing both data-driven and last-click attribution models provided a clearer picture of campaign effectiveness.
  • Optimizing Google Ads Campaigns: Given the aim of growing the reach online and driving revenue, Wagento’s eCommerce marketing team tailored ad groups using well-chosen keywords and audience demographics. This led to accurately targeting potential customers. We fixed all errors like campaign configuration, ad copies, images, assets, and target audiences. The new ad content highlighted the client’s unique selling points, encouraging user engagement. We also set a strategic budget and bidding strategy to enhance ad performance and optimize ROI, ensuring the campaigns precisely reached and resonated with the intended audience.
